Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

Wordleos is a free, browser-based collection of themed Wordle word games. We have built it to need as little of your data as possible: there are no user accounts, no sign-up, and no logins. This page explains exactly what is stored, what leaves your device, and the choices you have.

Data we store on your device

Your gameplay state lives in your browser's local storage, not on our servers. This includes your chosen display name for the leaderboard, your current streak and best solve times, your daily-puzzle progress, and small UI preferences such as sound on/off. Because this data is local, clearing your browser storage for this domain removes it permanently, and we have no way to recover it.

Leaderboard data

If you submit a score to a public leaderboard, the display name you enter and your score (guesses used, solve time) are sent to our game API and shown to other players. Please do not use your real name or any personal information as your display name — a nickname is all the game needs.

Analytics

We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics tool, to understand aggregate traffic — which pages are visited and where visitors arrive from. Plausible does not use cookies, does not track you across other websites, and does not collect personally identifiable information. The data is anonymous and aggregated.

Advertising and cookies

Wordleos is supported by advertising. We work with third-party ad partners (which may include Google AdSense and Adsterra) that may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this and other websites.

You can opt out of personalised advertising by Google at Google Ads Settings, and you can opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info/choices. Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies from their settings.

No payment data

Wordleos is entirely free. We do not sell anything, and no payment or financial information is ever collected on this site.

Children's privacy

Wordleos is a general-audience word game and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The game itself requires no personal information to play.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
